Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Tawang (via Bomdila or Dirang)
Thrilling drive through Sela Pass (13,700 ft). En route stops at frozen Sela Lake and Jaswant Garh War Memorial. Reach Tawang and acclimatize. Bonfire & local dinner. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 2: Culture + Cliffside Views
Visit Tawang Monastery (2nd largest in world). Hike to Gyangong Ani Gompa. Explore Tawang War Memorial & light/sound show. Try Monpa thali & browse markets for yak cheese & woolens. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 3: High-Altitude Thrill – Bum La Pass & Lakes Circuit
Day trip to Bum La Pass (15,200 ft – permit needed), Madhuri Lake (Shonga-tser), Pankang Teng Tso & Nagmula Tso. Enjoy snow play & army café tea. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 4: Offbeat Hike & Village Trail
Morning hike to ancient Chagzam Bridge (600-year-old iron bridge). Optional ATV or soft trek in Lumla or Zemithang. Visit traditional Monpa homes at Sangestar. Sunset from Tawang Viewpoint. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 5: Adventure Wrap-up & Departure
Visit Urgelling Monastery (6th Dalai Lama’s birthplace). Optional ride on Tawang Ropeway. Depart via Sela Pass toward Dirang or Bomdila.
